FOR USA TODAY NETWORK-WISCONSIN

"Courage to Soar" is an inspirational read about the life of Olympic champion Simone Biles.

Writing in first person, Simone chronologically tells her story from her earliest memories of life in foster care. She recounts how she felt when she was officially adopted by her grandparents and shares her journey to becoming an Olympic champion. Simone describes the anguishing choices she made to continue her gymnastics career and how family and friends were there to support her through those major life decisions. With humor and insight, she shares life lessons she learned along the way.

Gymnastics enthusiasts will love the behind-the-scenes information and her inner thoughts during and after well known national gymnastics events. I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants a lighthearted, uplifting read.
