WAUSAU - The Wausau School District has started to host free technology classes in the Wausau Center mall. Classes are open to anyone in the community and will cover topics from computer basics to coding. Among the upcoming offerings, an hour long Understanding Social Media class will be offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 10 and again at 2 p.m. March 15. Those who would like a lesson in coding with the iPad app Swift Playground can attend a 45 minute class at 1 or 2 p.m. March 12. Additional classes and times can be found on the Community Education calendar at goo.gl/bGkqHT or posted in the storefront window.
Classes meet in the Younkers wing of the mall. Devices will be available for use, or participants may bring their own. The Wausau Center mall donated the storefront lease, and Wausau School
District teachers and students are volunteering to facilitate classes. Materials are provided through a community service fund.
The district plans to continue the classes into June.
