Pride Pumps raise more than $40K for schools

RIISER ENERGY

WAUSAU - Last year, Riiser Energy donated $40,902 to 11 schools through its Pride Pump program, the company said in a news release.

Riiser launched the program in late 2015 to support local schools.

Each school is assigned a gas pump with its school logo and colors at a nearby Riiser station.

For every gallon pumped on a school’s Pride Pump, Riiser donates 2 cents to the school.

"This is only the beginning," said Todd Kopplin, Riiser vice president of retail. "Many of the locations only had a Pride Pump installed for a portion of 2016. Next year, we expect even higher donation totals."

High schools that have a Pride Pump are Wausau East, Wausau West, D.C. Everest, Wausau Newman, Merrill, Mosinee, Edgar, Marathon, Coleman and Gillett, and a brand-new pump was installed for Northland Lutheran in December.

"We look forward to even more schools joining the program in the upcoming year," Kopplin said.
